Elina accepts briefs in all areas of law.

Since coming to the Bar in 2018, she has worked on matters in building and construction, insurance, commercial law, contractual disputes, misleading and deceptive conduct, corporations law and insolvency, real property, native title, family law, taxation, crime, equity, family provision, succession law, land and environment and planning law, personal injury and negligence, tort - nuisance claims, professional discipline and appeared in the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court and the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. She also worked on the Royal Commission into the Financial Services sector in her capacity as a barrister in insurance.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Elina worked as a solicitor at Shields Lawyers. Elina also worked at the NSW Environmental Defenders Office where she was part of the team that advised the government of Papua New Guinea and drafted laws for the sustainable management and regulations for beche de mer fishing industry. Elina also advised the NSW Government as part of the legal team at the National Children’s and Youth Law Centre. 

Elina has a Juris Doctor from the University of New South Wales and a Masters degree in Musicology from the University of Melbourne. She has been the recipient of over forty scholarships, prizes and awards in academic excellence, music, environment and literature. She was awarded a $60,000 scholarship by the University of Melbourne as the recipient of the Australian Postgraduate Award in research excellence from the Australian Federal Government. She twice received the Dean’s Award for academic excellence from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and in the field of music received national and television awards including at the 2010 Australian National Piano Award and the Australian National Concerto and Vocal Award and she was the winner of the Kawai Award.
